Are you dreaming of homeownership? If you have always wanted to be a homeowner, but never thought you could afford it, please attend a San Diego Habitat for Humanity family orientation meeting. As a non-profit builder of affordable homes, Habitat for Humanity is offering one and two bedroom condominiums to families in need.
SDHFH selects families based on three criteria:
- Demonstrated need for improved housing: for example, poorly maintained rental unit, overcrowded conditions and/or cost of rent that is over 50% of total gross monthly income.
- Willingness to partner with SDHFH: Each family must be willing to complete 250 hours of volunteer “sweat equity” per adult applicant, attend homeowner education workshops and be an active member of the condominium homeowners’ association.
- Ability to pay a monthly mortgage
