Join caring builders from across America and give one week of your
time to help families realize the dream of homeownership!
Builders Blitz 2008 is an exciting opportunity for Habitat for Humanity
affiliates and professional builders to partner to build homes
across the nation. San Diego Habitat for Humanity plans to blitz
a minimum of 10 houses during this event at our Libby Lake Village
project in Oceanside.
The History of Home Builders Blitz
In 2006, more than 1,000 professional homebuilders joined forces
with Habitat for Humanity and built 459 homes across the country
in one week, providing housing for nearly 2,000 people!!
San Diego HFH participated in the effort with blitzing 4 houses in
one week at our Milane Lane project in Escondido with local builders
KB Home, John Laing Home, Rick Mays Construction and Smith Brothers
Construction.
Join us May 31st to June 7th for the 2008 Home Builders Blitz!
- Move closer to goal of eliminating substandard housing worldwide
- Strengthen and increase ongoing partnerships in the housing
industry nationwide
- Raise public awareness about the need for decent housing through
national media

Help us raise 20 million pennies to build one home for a family in
need! Penny Lane is a mission to raise 20 million pennies (the cost
of one home) for San Diego Habitat for Humanity. We invite you to organize
your classroom, team, family, church or organization to find creative
ways to collect pennies for San Diego Habitat for Humanity, and contribute
them to the Penny Lane Fund! If you would like to participate, please
have a teacher or leader of your group to complete and return the commitment
form below and fax in to 619-516-5264 attention Shannon. Rolled pennies
may be brought to the SDHFH office located at 10222 San Diego Mission
Rd, San Diego 92108. Once we have your pennies, San Diego Habitat for
Humanity will present your group with an official Penny Lane Certificate,
and place your group photo on our website to thank you for your support!

The Philoptochos Society of San Diego
Anthousa Chapter
A day of fashion, shopping, and
inspiration...
a day of building hope, partnering with local
philanthropic organizations to provide opportunity and enhance
the quality of life for our community.
On Saturday, May 17,
2008 festivities will begin at 10 AM in the Elizabeth Ballroom of the Manchester
Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Diego. The Grand Terrace will transform into a
bazaar of unique boutiques that offer one-of-a- kind finds! Delight in
the high style show produced by Couture Productions, featuring haute couture
with special vocal and musical performances. Guests will banquet upon Chef
Manfred Steuerwalds gourmet menu, which he has prepared especially for
the day. Be inspired by the Christian lives and philanthropic deeds of
four outstanding San Diegans, who will be honored with the Anthousa Award.
All proceeds will benefit:
•Philoptochos Ministries
•Kids
n Cancer - Camp Agape (Love): A haven where pediatric cancer patients and their families retreat and enjoy special moments together.
•San
Diego Habitat for Humanity: Building simple decent homes in partnership with deserving San Diego families.
EnVogue is presented annually by the Philoptochos Society of San Diego, Anthousa Chapter. The first chapter of Philoptochos (fi-lop-to-hos friend of those in need) was organized in New York City in 1902. Today Philoptochos is a national non-profit organization officially chartered in 1931, comprised of 475 chapters, with approximately 28,000 members, and is the largest Christian womens charitable organization in the country.
