A gift to Habitat is a great way to remember your friends and families on birthdays, anniversaries and holidays! To specify a gift in honor of someone, please include their name and address. We'll send a card to the person being honored, informing them that you've given a gift in their name.

House Sponsorship
In sponsoring or co-sponsoring a Habitat house, businesses, churches, individuals, and other organizations partner with low-income families to provide a safe and affordable place to live. This team building opportunity is a great way for your organization to get involved! This past year, corporations such as Coldwell Banker Residential, Dixieline Lumber, John Laing Homes, KB Home and Smith Brothers Construction have used this opportunity to promote teamwork and communication among their employees.

Instead of a predictable company retreat this year, why not build with Habitat? To find out more about sponsorship and team-building opportunities for your group, contact Elizabeth Neubrand, Director of Development & Community Affairs, at (619) 283-4663, ext. 317 or elizabethn@sdhfh.org.

Donate Stocks and Bonds
A gift of stocks or bonds may provide an opportunity for tax savings while generously sharing with others. You should consult with your tax accountant for proper tax guidance prior to making this type of donation.

Please contact Karen Youel, Director of Special Projects & Planned Giving, at (619) 283-4663, ext. 305 or kareny@sdhfh.org.

Planned Giving
Many of our partners support Habitat through planned gifts, which also often qualify for significant tax deductions. Giving options include bequests to Habitat in wills, donations of life insurance or IRA funds, and charitable gift annuities. You should consult with your tax accountant for proper tax guidance prior to making this type of donation.

Please contact Karen Youel, Director of Special Projects & Planned Giving, at (619) 283-4663, ext. 305 or kareny@sdhfh.org.

Donate/Sell Real Estate
Finding affordable building sites in San Diego is one of our major challenges. A charitable gift of a building site would not only mean tax savings to you, but it would also provide a family safe and decent shelter for many years to come. Donated real estate may also be deducted as a charitable contribution. Please consult with your tax accountant to determine the tax benefits available.

Another option is to sell a building site to Habitat at a reduced price. A charitable contribution may also be available in this situation, so please check with your accountant. Not only will this type of sale reduce taxes, but it is a gift that will keep on giving for years!

Please contact Cheryl Keenan, Executive Director, at 619-283-4663, ext. 307 or cherylk@sdhfh.org to donate or sell land or property.

Ways to Donate Materials

Donate Building Materials
Habitat depends on the generosity of individuals and companies to provide materials to build homes for partner families and to sell at the ReStore. Habitat construction sites need NEW materials, and the ReStore can use both new and used materials in sellable condition. Your gift of materials will greatly affect the quality of life for Habitat families.

To donate materials, please call the ReStore at 619-516-5267.

Donate Your Vehicle to Help Habitat
You can now support Habitat for Humanity’s local and global mission by donating your car, truck, boat, RV or other vehicle to Habitat's Cars for Homes™ program. It’s quick and easy and with your help, more low-income families will have a decent place to call home, and the hope of a better life.
